I finished up another Elizabeth Zimmermann gull baby sweater. I have to say this might have become my favorite baby sweaters to make. The pattern is really clear (Knitters Almanac, Elizabeth Zimmermann) and the sweater takes no time at all. This sweater took me about two days. It is made from Phildar Reporter yarn that I got in a yarn swap. I used size US5 needles and added only three buttons. In previous runs of this sweater I found the button holes to be too many if there is more than that and I am kind of a freak when it comes to using even and odd numbers of things. The booties are a Saartje bootie pattern. These were fast and easy to make. Super cute! This set was given as a gift to a nurse at Hopkins Ped Onc Clinic. She is expecting a girl around Thanksgiving time. She will be a wonderful mom as she always takes time with S and the other kids who are patients there. Speaking of Peds Onc Clinic... This month, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Please take this time to educate yourself or others about childhood cancer. There is a long way to go on all aspects of treatment. Also you can donate blood, platelets, bone marrow donor to help out. Write Comment (2 comments) |

Anne This shawl is a rectangular shawl. It is light and airy after it is blocked. The finished dimentions of the shawl are 70” X 18”. The pattern starts with a solid panel of motif and then that motif is split by a center panel motif. The center panel/solid panel is then continued until just about the end of the shawl and then a single repeat of the solid panel is finished off. Now Available!
