JodyThis is a basic lace sock workedfrom the toe up to the cuff. The design is patterned in a six row repeat. These socks won 1st place at the2007 Maryland Sheep and Wool skein and garment contest. ColeenThis is a basic 3 X1 ribbed sock pattern with and interesting cuff and toe design. The design is patterned in a three row repeat with a simple slip stitch and increase technique. Twenty Two over SevenThe is an interesting cable sock with a broken ribbing to add stretch and comfort. The cable is called a banjo cable and is interesting because it is circular. On one of the socks the cable travels down the outside and inside of the leg and then splits at the gusset. One half of the cable continues down the heel and the other half continues along the side of the foot of the sock. On the other sock the cable travels toward the top of the foot where it meets the cable from the other side and creates one cable.

Cinnamon ImperialsFor this pattern the bottom edge of the shawl is knit first; the center panel stitches are then picked up off the side of the edging and together the right side of the shawl and the center panel are worked. After all repeats are finished the edging pattern is used to create the bind off of the center panel stitches. The left side edging is worked as a continuation of top bind off edge but done with picked up stitches instead of live stitches on the needle. Once the left side of the shawls edging is complete it is cast off and grafted to the initial cast on edge of the bottom of the shawl. Exclusive patterns for Write Comment (281 comments) |

Hello. I was wanting to practice Elizabeth Zimmerman's concept about creating set in sleeves without actually having to seam them in. This baby sweater does that and also uses the lace pattern from the baby monkey socks that I just completed. The sweater is a pretty small size, most likely will fit a preemie/newborn but if larger yarn and needles are used then the sweater should fit an infant. It took me a weekend to complete and I am happy that I learned some concepts and ideas along the way. The pattern has not been test knit yet so please if you have comments send them to me so I can address them. Thanks! Write Comment (454 comments) |
